UK Space Design Competition

We started work in early 2015 to design and model a spacecraft capable of docking with the ISS and travelling to Mars for a terraforming mission. We won the regional rounds and entered the UK finals for a weekend working at Imperial College London .
During this time we attended several lectures each covering cutting edge research in different fields. We were also given a tour of the Imperial science department and worked on calculating material properties of various metals in their laboratories.
After two days of working with professors to design a life-sustaining ship capable of hosting terraforming equipment, we presented to a panel of judges. Alberg Science Club came second in the UK finals.
